Remarketing provides a phenomenal way to get your practice back in front of website visitors and even patients who search for your services but not make it to your website. In the long run, it helps boost overall online new patient leads by continuing to keep your practice top of mind as a patient decides which doctor, dentist, chiropractor or other medical practitioner they want to do business with. Now, you can take your remarketing efforts one step further with YouTube remarketing.
Most local medical business owners are familiar with YouTube’s video sharing platform which allows individuals and businesses to find, share and watch a variety of videos. But did you know that 60% of U.S. Internet users visit YouTube at least once a week? With YouTube remarketing you can put your practice back in front of potential patients who visited your channel, watched or shared your videos, or liked a video on your channel.
With YouTube’s remarketing capabilities, you can remarket to the following types of visitors:
- Those who visited your YouTube channel
- Those who subscribed or unsubscribed to your channel
- Those who viewed your video(s)
- Those who liked or disliked your video(s)
- Those who commented on your video(s)
- Those who shared your video(s)
Through remarketing you can continue to capture potential patients interesting thereby building brand recall about your practice and providing a soft sale of your services which, ultimately, can boost the number of new patients you get each day, week and month.
Like other forms of remarketing, YouTube remarketing leverages browser cookies to track potential patients. The only real difference is that YouTube remarketing utilizes video content. To target patients, you can target groups by the basis of their interests or opt for customized formats such as topics, products, etc… And you can do all of this by simply linking your YouTube and AdWords accounts.
Simply go to the “Campaigns” tab in Google AdWords where you can see “Link YouTube Accounts.” By linking both accounts, you can choose specific videos for your remarketing campaign.
From there click on “Video Remarketing lists.”
The “List Type” provides several options for how you want to remarket. From here you can select targeting such as visited a channel page, liked any video from a channel or shared any video from a channel. When you have finalized your selection, choose a list name and membership duration (up to 540 days).
Next you must choose a video campaign for remarketing from a current campaign or by creating a new one.
Go to “Targets” and click on “Show more criteria” to select the campaign you want for your video remarketing and any other options you want to implement for your remarketing campaign such as demogrpahics, topics, or interests. Then click on “remarketing lists” and save all of your information by clicking on “add remarketing lists.”
And the final step is creating the remarketing ad. Go to the campaign designated for the remarketing campaign, click on “ads” and then “add video ad.”
You can select a video either by uploading a new video or choosing an existing video directly from your YouTube channel. Make sure you have the rights to use any videos you select for your remarketing campaigns.
Once you have selected a video, finalize your ad by providing details such as Headline, Description, Display URL, Destination URL, ad name, etc. Once you have carefully reviewed your details, select “save.” Your campaign will become live wihtin a couple of hours.
Remarketing is a great way to get back in front of potential patients and get them to convert into patients for your practice. And YouTube remarketing provides one more way to target those potential patients but via video content.
